The 33rd Kansas City Wide Open came to a close Sunday afternoon. A record setting 324 competitors and countless spectators swarmed to four courses selected in the metro area. Kansas City is renowned for course density and participation.
The local and regional regulars work well with the Parks and Recreation departments to create a special event. Many
volunteers worked the event.

This year a purse of over $20,000 and 5 USDGC spots were up for grabs. 80 competitors registered for MPO (Men's Pro Open Division), with a number of local players in the mix.
FPO (Female Pro Open Division) had 9, Masters 15, Grandmasters 10, Advanced (AM1) 69, Advanced Masters 19, Advanced Grandmasters 25, and Advanced Sr. Grandmasters 7. In the B-Tier event there were 49 Intermediate (MA2), 5 Intermediate Woman, 34 Recreational Mens and 2 Recreational Woman.
